My DS was born 6 weeks early and was in NICU for 2 weeks. He's now doing well but is underweight. The father and I aren't together and are having communication problems.

He wants to take him out alone to god knows where. DS is now 6 weeks old and I don't feel comfortable with xp taking him out alone right now. There are many reasons; I am bf, I don't know his friends very well and have never met his family, he lives an hour from me, he isn't yet well 'adapted' to the baby he says and does really immature worring things with DS and he's hardly spent quality time with DS.

At what age should I allow xp to take DS away from me?

Where is he proposing taking him? The pub?!

If he us just taking him out for a stroll YABU
If he is going for a
Long time somewhere inappropriate yanbu

It is his child too and he should be afforded the right to bond with his baby regardless of premature birth. If baby is doing much better now as you say, it depends where his dad is taking him?
