Carer stealing from elderly Lady with dementia

Not sure if this is correct place but in brief, my friends mother has dementia in a warden assisted flat. It's early onset but she is confused without doubt. Does anyone know if you can sue a care company or social services if the carer is found guilty of theft i.e.: money taken from her mothers account by the carer? Too many details, but carer has been suspended pending investigation but it's looking very likely money has been sent abroad. Thanks

If the carer is charged you may be able to claim compensation from the carer agency. I would at least hope so! How do they know the money was being sent abroad? Was it transferred direct from her account into a foreign account?
