is it worth an hour's drive on a sunday with a 4,8 & 9 year old? Is there a foresty playpark etc?
please help, need something to do for free, coming from Lincoln

There's a small play park. Not an awful lot in the visitor centre - a small walk thorugh plastic forest with Robin Hood in a tree and some plaques telling the tale. Gift shop, cafe. But I do think that the actual forest is worth an hour drive, though I don't think it will take you quite that long from Lincoln - maybe 45 mins. Kids will have fun walking to see the major oak and squirrel spotting.
