I prefer Whipsnade as it is lovely to walk around and my children always enjoy it.
When we went to Woburn the animals were mainly in hiding despite driving around twice and my two eldest bickered the whole time in the car so dh almost crashed shouting at them to stop and the baby fell asleep.

Had a day out yesterday at Whipsnade, bith boys loved it (5&2). They now have lions, and we were also lucky enough to see the elelphants walk past us, as they had been down for their daily walk to the dust bit. Also the baby elephants were holding on to their mummy's tails . Not a cheap day out, but well worth it.

Yep, Woburn was great - I was the starter of the original discussion.

Whipsnade has a big playground half suitable for younger children and toddlers and great big slides for older kids in the other half.
It can be a long old walk if you do the whole circuit but there is also a bus or you can drive around. We did the walk when ds1 was 3 and dd in a buggy ang he was fine, plenty of places to sit etc.
There is also a lovely train ride.
