Sunday morning in Bristol - what's fun for a 2 and 4 year old?

We're in Bristol for a family wedding this weekend, and will have Sunday morning free to mooch around before going to my aunt's house for a buffet lunch. Where would be a good place to take the dds?

(Not the zoo - that's where the wedding reception is, rather thrillingly.)

some things here The @Bristol thing is supposed to be really good.

The Zoo is fab, and am v jealous about going to a wedding there. DS's favourite thing is the seals and the penguins.

If it's nice weather at the weekend, simply mooching about the harbourside is good fun (DS likes this, just coming up to 2). There are ferry trips round the harbour, replica of the Matthew (ship Cabot sailed to US in 1490summat) also the Great Britain. Lots of nice cafes etc.

Also Millenium Sq, which is by the @Bristol site has fountains and lots of running about like a loon space.

@ Bristol is fab, but a morning is really not enough time to warrant the cost of entry, or do it justice.

The City Farm at [[uktv.co.uk/food/localfoodhero/correct/oid/4668 St Werburghs}] has a super cafe and playground

SS Gt Britain is v interesting, plus the Matthew is sometimes parked (moored?)alongside

Am envy at a wedding at the Zoo

Thanks very much for all those - the harbour area looks good, as does the farm. Will take a straw poll with the dds when the time comes.

Thanks again - the girls are only slightly more excited about the zoo wedding than I am grin.

blaize castle and ashton court are good but not if it's raining.

The museum at the top of Park Street is fab and free. Very family friendly with a small activity area by the cafe that will keep them busy and entertained. There is a great natural history section and lots of little tables with colouring sheets etc. dotted around. Mine love it, and never get bored of going there.

SS Great Britain is fantastic.

Millenium square is great if the weather is nice (by @Bristol). They can splash in the water and get soaked!
