Planning to spend a week or more camping on 2 separate sites, one just south of Aberystwyth and one near Powys. Am trying to have a few days out planned in case of emergency - any recommendations? Any family friendly places you'd recommend?

Many thanks in advance
Mandy

Found this info for you:

'Plenty to see & do...
Apart from visiting the National Library of Wales, your stay at Aberystwyth may be further enhanced through visiting some of the town's other attractions:
The Ceredigion Museum;
The Vale of Rheidol Narrow Gauge Steam Railway;
The Aberystwyth Electric Cliff Railway;
The Mid Wales Lead and Silver Mining Museum at Llywernog;
The Forest Visitor and Red Kite Centre at the Nant yr Arian Forestry centre operated by Forestry Commission Wales;
The StatKraft Visitor Centre, walks and conducted tours of the Cwm Rheidol Hydro-Electric Power Station;
Llanbadarn Fawr's historic church;
The Centre for Christian Tradition;
The Exhibition Galleries of the Aberystwyth Arts Centre'.

I would definitely recommend the following (went there many times whilst I was a student at the university and since then):

- Vale of Rheidol Railway (from Aberystwyth to Devil's Bridge) - very scenic.

- The Centre for Alternative Technology - very interesting place.

- Nice beaches - Ynyslas (lovely beach with sand dunes)

- Aberystwyth Cliff Railway
