So chaps... I want to know, was losing your virginity a big deal for you

Was discussing this with dh the other night and he didn't seem to think so but, to me it was.
I'll be honest I didn't go overboard about that to him (male pride and all).
I still remember feeling all shiny and new the next day and like a woman and it was a BIG event, (not great, but big, no, not like that, you swags).
So how was it for you?

It was fantastic. All those early years spent annoying girls turned into a fascination and a warm glow when one was nice to you or flashed a smile.

Then came the marvelling at all the nice soft bits and the inevitable moment.

It's always nice to feel that way even today. I still get all excited about the whole thing with the DW even after all these years.

Long may it continue.

My dh's was with an older woman and he says it was no big deal but, I don't believe him.
For me it was but, didn't want to tell him that and it was very different to what we have, which is so much better.
I just wondered because with a bloke there is no (ahem) bloodletting if it's a whole different ball game. Obviously not!

Massively vital mega-important life changing thing before it happened. Then, afterwards, it was like "well that was fun but not sure what all the fuss was about"

It's more of a relief really. You feel you can move on.

My dh won't tell me how old he was when he lost his

Surely that must mean he was 35 or something?

Yeah UD - i do remember worrying about it before it happened. You know, thinking i had to perform like a porn star cos of all those smutty films and magazines you see when you are a fumbling boy.

When you finally realise that real life isn't like that at all, it is a bit of a relief.

As soon as i discovered the real thing, those bloody mags went in the bin.

It's a bugger when they won't tell you something, it makes it all mysterious and much more interesting. I badgered my DP to tell me and now I rather wish I hadn't. He painted quite a vivid picture, which I now have floating around my head. Ignorance is bliss!!

Losing it was a big deal for me, because I was brought up in the catholic faith, and I did it out of wedlock (is it only catholics that use the word wedlock?). Catholic guilt gets me every time

DH was 11 when he lost his. To an older girl!

He is very non-chalont about it.

I wonder if he is like that about it because of my bad experience though....???

It was a big deal for me, and I remember it fondly as a nice loving experience.

Hmmm, maybe I should read the thread title properly before I post. I am not a chap

Well see at least I know I am not the only female who feels that way about it.

Mine was to an older girl too. Felt great at the time, but when you look back you realise that there is something strange about an older girl seducing a younger boy - it's normally the other way round at that kind of age.

On a related subject - i was always jealous of the big boys who used to hang around outside school and flirt with all the 5th form girls with their fancy cars. They hardly ever looked at us guys in their class who were the same age as them. I just wanted to be like these posey buggers.

Then when you are 18 yourself, you realise that you cannot think of anything more sad and pathetic than hanging around school gates trying to pick up 15 year olds.

No challenge whatsoever - that's when you want a real woman - not a bloody kid.

Morons.

Just wish i realised that at the time!

Maybe it's odd, but when I was 18 I only wanted to sleep with 18-year-olds. Give or take a year or two.

I might have fancied women in their 20s and 30s, but only from afar - never seriously entertained the idea that I might have a chance with any of them. I just assumed they'd only want men who had cars, money and better clothes.

Blimey, my dh has had his fair share of golden oldies, the one he was bed hopping with before he met me, would be drawing her pension by now!
He traded her in (lucky for me) for a much younger model

Mr Inferior's is now a lesbian. (Nice woman. We see her and her DP and daughter sometimes.)

Clearly he ruined her for All Other Men. Arf.
