For context, daughter is now 13 months, we’ve been married 6 years, both work (me full time/wife 4 days), 2 dogs.

In short daughter doesn’t sleep, we’ve probably had 5 nights where she’s slept through since birth. When she wakes up which is 2-3 times some nights she screams and fights for anything up to 2 hours. We’re probably lucky to get 3 hours solid sleep a night and it’s really starting to take its toll on us. We are in this together, but daughter will not entertain me some times and just wants mummy, which limits what I can do in the night. She’s been walking around 3 months now, and is very mobile. I was really hoping the walking would tire her out but no luck.

When she’s awake/day time the slightest thing causes a huge reaction. If we close a door or take something off her she has a melt down. On the other side of things, when she’s happy she really is the sweetest most loving girl there is.

Anyway, through a combination of lack of sleep/stress/frustration we’re really struggling and don’t really know what to do next. My parents had her last night to try and give us a break, we got a call middle of the night to go round and take over. Mum was in tears.

I’m probably not doing a good job of explaining this, but where can we turn for help before one of us has a break down.

See your gp ASAP. Be open with the receptionist so you can get seen.

Speak to them now.

Been there and it sucks
