Child access ( weekends )

Hello everyone I’m new to the group and I’m after some advice so I apologize for the Jeremy Kyle update but I need some advice

Myself and my wife have split up and going through the divorce process. I have been in the same job 10 years now which involves weekend working

The agreement at the moment is that I have the children overnight two nights a week. The nights vary because of the shift patterns. My current shift pattern is a 4 week on whereby I work 2 weekends then I have the next two off.

What I have proposed to the wife is that once every eight weeks so that’s one weekend out of two shift cycles I don’t have the kids but I have them through the week instead. I think I’m been quite reasonable there and not shirking any responsibility. She isn’t happy as at that time she could have them three weekends in a row. I’ve explained when I’m off I’m having them 3 out of four

Anyway she is now threatening to go to court and make them insist I have them every other weekend which I simply can’t given my current job. So can anyone help

  1. can she really do this
  2. do people think I’m been reasonable

    Any advice appreciated

    Cheers

Dadsnet isn't used very much, so you might get more replies on Relationships. You could ask for the thread to be moved or just post there.

It might be worth mentioning the kids ages too?

^ good advice.

Before court you’d need to have mediation to that’s the next step anyway if you’re at an impasse.
