Things I wasn't aware of until I joined MN

This is meant to be light-hearted, as i'm snowed in and climbing the walls. If it gets 5 posts I'll be surprised.

Also this could end up with me and Belfastbloke posting.

But as a Dad wending my slightly puzzled way through life. Until I landed on MN I'd never heard, thought of or been aware of the following:

1. Greggs sausage rolls and Fruit Shoots are considered the work of the devil. I love the sausage rolls.

2. Wohm and SAHM debate, it's never cropped up before in my life, surely it's whatever suits each family.

3. Boden. Never ever heard of it before.

4. Breast and bottle feeding. Never really had an
opinion, if it wasn't working for the mother, fair enough
I thought.

5. Zombie plans. Absolutely brilliant idea.

6. Pantenne, never heard of it but I'll give it a try. I
thought it was a shampoo.

7. How many men are considered twats.

8. Never seen the word cunt written down so many times and used in conversations.

9. Never realized how many feisty intelligent women
there are out there and wish I met more like you in RL (sounds a bit arse-licky but true) as i don't like cars debating with men can be so boring.

Self-indulgent? Probably.

Bored out of my brains? Yes, I need to get out again
and participate in some sort of sporting activity.

Any more things men (or women) didn't know.

Or am I on my own in dadsnet?

mylifewithmangers Tue 21-Dec-10 21:25:51

Have you tried out any of the good housekeeping threads. You can join in my surprise that some people change their sheets and towels daily!!!

tethersjinglebellend Tue 21-Dec-10 21:29:19

That other people ascribe colours for letters, numbers, words, days, months etc.

And that they are WRONG.

GlynistheMincePie Tue 21-Dec-10 21:30:57

Panettone is great as toast

Truckulent Tue 21-Dec-10 21:35:06

I've been told (on here) that Panettone should be home-baked. I mean we'll have a go, is it worth it. Or just buy some, or don't bother?

supersalstrawberry Tue 21-Dec-10 21:36:49

Message withdrawn at poster's request.

Harimad Tue 21-Dec-10 21:37:51

That people can get so riled up by how other people choose to live their lives.

Fascinating reading, but phewf!

Also, didn't realise how much I sat on the fence! blush

Truckulent Tue 21-Dec-10 21:40:20

DidEinsteinsMumDoSanta Tue 21-Dec-10 21:42:43

Truckulent Tue 21-Dec-10 21:43:07

This way to Zombie plan

Ooh I've just worked out how to do that, there's something else new.

Ormirian Tue 21-Dec-10 21:44:51

"Panettone. Like eating sawdust with raisins in" Ooh that is so unfair! It's like sawdust and YEAST with raisins in.

Truckulent Tue 21-Dec-10 21:46:06

Is it pronounced panaytoni?

Solodad Tue 21-Dec-10 22:03:52

Things you really shouldn't google.

JaxTellersOldLady Tue 21-Dec-10 22:12:52
