Sad news on the Velogames tdf:

Due to a recent legal notice, entries into the current Fantasy Grand Tour game are currently suspended until further notice.

It is fair to say I am absolutely gutted about this turn of events, but do not want to comment further until the situation progresses.

At present it is looking unlikely that the current Fantasy Grand Tour game will go ahead as planned.

Shall we just try and make a team and do our best on here? I'm not sure I'm bright enough without the helpful scroll down menus.

Eurosport have a Fantasy cycling - I have put a team on there (seems a bit crap though as there is no points system which I think means you can just pick who you want).

What's particularly irking about the whole thing is why did they leave it to just the day before to shut down the Velogames?

It seems rather nefarious. Perhaps because it doesn't give Velogames time to just change the name very slightly and going ahead as per usual.

Froomey spent the first week of the Giro on the floor so I'm thinking it's a weird form of tactics?

One of them was off the front for a long time today. Not that it matters.

I know it's weird but it takes quite a lot of the fun out of it! I think I'm a lot more competitive than I thought. Mind you I always seem to start well then tail off badly towards the end so it's not terrible

Although so far we've got Froome fell off, Cav had bad luck and Sagan won a stage so it's all panning out as you'd expect. Not at home so I don't have a TV but I'm doing my best with the Guardian live coverage.

I'm miffed about Velogames. Denied my chance of an MN peloton hat trick. Bah!
