Just that really! We are going to that instead of Bakewell this year.

Looks family friendly, same weekend as the Great Yorkshire Bike ride.

Ive never been but it looks really good. Quite fancy it. Are you camping? I'm just looking at the campsite booking form now. Would a "motorist pitch" be suitable for a caravan do you think? Can't see a specific caravan pitch. £30 for the week end isn't bad.

Have just worked out that yes it is a mtorist pitch I would need. Too old for a tent these days I reckon!

We are camping Simon, in a tent (driving there though not cycling). I think it looks good too. Yes, good value for three nights.

We will have DD on the tandem so will do anything up to 35 miles I reckon.

Have you been before? Are they patient if you're not the fastest person ever? Obviously not planning on any A or even B rides but I have a recumbent trike so it's not overly fast.

Do you have to book in advance? It's not very clear from the website if they sell out or not and if the weather was terrible I might not want to go and then ive wasted £30.

Oh my life they had a naked bike ride through York City centre last year!

No we haven't been before so I don't know but I reckon if you aren't on one of the fast rides they have got to be OK haven't they?

Lots of people seem to have given up on eroica because it has become a beer festival and gone for this instead this year.

I think you can just turn up, I would email them to check tbh. If you download the camp booking form it mentions early bird bookings have to be received before 11/6, after that you pay on the day.

We had planned on it this year but now live fairly close. I suggested we just went for the day rides but DH vetoed that, said he wants to be part of the evening stuff so we will still be camping.

The price must increase I reckon, once the early bird thing finishes.

Did they!! Must check how fast that one is. DD was mortified when we saw the naked bike ride in London last summer!

Ive just paid for my ticket! Excited.

Hope they add some more rides. Looking at last year's programme they had more rides than currently in this year's to choose from. I guess they will nearer the time. I like the sound of the solar system cycle way, want to check that out!

Would love to meet you Simon. We are fairly recognisable too - blue tandem and either a Dutch pyramid or a tipi tent.

I'll be there. In lightweight section, probably with a pointy orange tent! I love it.

Wtfisimon, there is always a slow ride to a pub on Saturday night with lots of recumbent bikes and trikes with velovision magazine. I'll probably be doing it on my tansem with a 3 year old stoker.

I have been going every year ( excluding the 2 year absence) for 28years. I went as a child and we now take out 4 year old and she loves it. Non complicated, safe cycling and camping that caters for all types of cyclist no matter how experienced.
