Not exactly 'culture' but has anyone taken their DC to see The Tiger Who Came to Tea yet?

Going on Saturday with my DD1 & DD2.

DD1 has SN's and I'm slightly concerned that the Tiger might come across as scary at some point.

Can anyone reassure me?

Have fun!

DD is too old now, but would have loved this. love the book.

The lady who wrote was on breakfast tv yesterday. They asked if her daughter would be going to see it and she said no, she was too busy but she might bring her grandchildren to see it in October. The lady was quite elderly and I think the presenters felt as sorry for her as I did, they even said they would lend her some of their children to take.

Hope you enjoy yourselves TC.

Thanks. Yeah I'm looking forward to it. Just a bit nervous the tiger might scare DD1 when she sees him on stage, even though they love the book.

We went today. It's fab. Tiger not scary at all - he dances and gets the audience on his side as soon as he comes in - and everyone in it really good. The details are great: as we sat down dd looked at the stage and said "look, there's Sophie's kitchen". They've even got Sophie's tights right!

I am so envy

used2bthin Thu 28-Aug-08 21:07:56

Oh I love the book, where is it on? DD is too young I think but I can't wait to take her to the theatre! Or is it a film?

used2bthin Thu 28-Aug-08 21:08:33

I meantMY DD is too young of course!

Chuffinnora Thu 28-Aug-08 21:09:37

envy It's not coming anywhere near here.

Bloomsbury Theatre - don't know if it's touring or anything. Live show. My dd is 3.8 - ADORED it.

used2bthin Thu 28-Aug-08 21:12:24

Oh I'm off to google it, hope it stays around till DD is bigger (she's not quite two yet and very lively)Have fun Thomcat!

Thomcat Thu 28-Aug-08 21:25:10

Oh Squeaver, I filled up then! Oh I'm so, so happy and now looking forward to it so much more, thank you grin

squeaver Thu 28-Aug-08 22:03:56

If you're in the stalls, the cast come down the side of the seats and say hello to everyone before they go on stage (the human cast, not the tiger that is!). I think it's so little ones don't get freaked out by the show starting. I thought it was a nice touch.

Let us know what you thought when you get back!

Thomcat Thu 28-Aug-08 22:05:53

Yes we are in the stalls.
How lovely smile
Will check in with you after.

yogabird Thu 28-Aug-08 22:19:59

where is it going on tour to? Have googled but can't find a list. We would love to go because it's one of my favourites grin

Thomcat Thu 28-Aug-08 22:21:46

I don't know, sorry. Just know it's on at the Bloomsbury theatre in London now.

OOh, it's in Preston in November.
Would my DS2 enjoy it? He will be 2.8 by then?

popmum Sun 31-Aug-08 13:17:35

yep. mine are 5 and 2.5. both entranced and it is not too long (50 mins) so not too bad.
