I fortunately missed most of the Horror of the Kenton and Shula 80s party but unfortunately listened enough to hear that David was going as Jimmy Saville and lots of really vomit making speeches from ROOOOOOTh about what she might wear all festooned by

MIRTHLESS LAUGHTER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! The great crime of the ARchers imho!!!

Actually most of the horror has been topped by the toe curling bellringing competition episode which was AWFUL!!!!!

No, I think Alan's stagnight was worse than that on reflection. I wanted to weep when I heard it!

THE RURAL DEAN!!! It;s not funny! Stop feigning hilarity you poor beleagured actors! Someone needs to get rid of some of the writers.....

oh I must listen to it ! horrid Alice, she was drunkenly stringing poor Christophurrr along last time I listened.
Am ok ipanema - poor dh's dad died this week,so we are in shock..Archers might be very cheering !

MaryAnn, I'm sorry to hear that, in such circs then listening to the Archers may divert. How are you both doing? There's no preparation for that kind of loss is there? Big hugs to you.

My expectancy is ludicrously imminent for someone who is not quite accepting that it is about to happen....
I'm due on Sept 14... too scary, I need to go and listen to my hypnobirth cd before it's too late.....

But I made a fruit cake today which is almost certainly a sign of something dontyouthink?

matt adoption storyline, he may go and search out his birth mother, Lilian sounding caring is pretty revolting but not a bad plotline.

LittleBella I don't know why I put this thread in culture vultures.... I posted in a hurry and couldn't think where else it could go! Any ideas? I like to post about the Archers every now and then....!

This is the problem, archers is unique. It doesn't really go in Telly addicts because it's not telly... we should have an"anti-culture" section. or maybe Soaps

HOpefully William's 6 months will be extended and we won't have to hear his whingy moany voice ever again. We can but hope. The way poor old Clarrie was going on, you'd think it was the other side of the world he was off to, not Gloucestershire.

Great stag night for Alan. All dressing up as vicars! Karaoke! Neil getting hilariously drunk! Forced hilarity all round.

Alice is obviously going to end up with Christopher, she keeps going on about how it's not going to happen

Oh I agree William should be banished for good, although I have a friend who is furious on his behalf at his treatment by Ed and that strumpet - is she Emma? I forget their names... but if they's had another gamekeeper knock himself off it would've been too much wouldn't it?

Yes Christopher will probably give up on the snooty little Madam and then go out with someone else and it will hit her like a thunderbolt and she'll see the light, hope he tells her to sling her hook.

Yes a radio thread would be a very fine thing.

On that thread I could complain about

And the really irritating high nasal voice of the guy who presents Money Box LIve.... I hate is so much. I have to run across the room and switch it off like I do when Go For It ocmes on. Also Winifrid Robinson.... yuck...

But I do love Radio 4, it is on most of the time............

WE could just have awhole topiconwhy the news quiz is not funny now the Toksvig is in charge and the demise of the afternoon play now it is only45 minutes. I have to listen to the old ones on radio7

I like Sandy Toksvig. She is very funny.

We do need a radio topic. But just for now, Chicken Keepers might do for The Archers.

Agree it is very funny that all in The Archers seem to think that Gloucestershire is somewhere past the point where you fall of the edge of the planet.

In reality I think it must only be about 30 miles from where Ambridge must be.
