Slava's Snowshow - anyone seen it with a child under 8yrs old?

Two people in one day have recommended this for me and my daughter (age 4 in Sept). I've looked at the website and seen the video clip which shows it might be a bit full on but in a fun sort of way. And my DD is not a scaredy girl and I'd like to think she'd be okay.

But when I phoned the booking line the guy was most reluctant to sell me the tickets.

So I have come away to think about it and show DD the clip to see what she thinks. We'd be going after her 4th birthday, but this is still half the recommended age.

But I really dont want to scare her, create nightmares so I'd value your opinions if you've seen it.

My parents have - you need to be at the front.

I wanted to take dd (4 at time) but couldn't get tickets near front.

It's quite dramatic at the beginning apparently

So if tickets had been available would you have taken your DD?

I have the chance to take her to an afternoon matinee and sit at the front.

I would have jumped at the chance but depends on your dd.

There are strobes and I think the beginning is quite 'dark' the clowns are classic clowns IYKWIM.

Can you sit near an aisle in case you have to leave?

Our theatre has some little side wings which would be easy to get out without disrupting anyone. But everyone has said you need to be in the stalls to really enjoy it and get the snow and webbing and balls.

My parents said you have to be in the first 6-8 rows really to get the full effect.

I contemplated getting tickets on Row1 as there were some left when we phoned but didn't want dd to be looking up constantly.. thought it might be uncomfortable.

Ps. Somebopdy I know had circle seats and really didn't enjoy it.

Yep we're MK. I'm gonna show DD the clip on the PC tonight and will phone the box office if she decides she likes the look of it.

I took ds2 who was aged 5 at the time and he loved it. Think barely 4 might be a bit young but probably depends on your dd. Also agree that you need to sit in the stalls as you don't get the benefit of any of the fun stuff if you are in the circle.
