I would dearly love to go to a music festy this summer and catch some live music as I never seem to go to anything (cue violins, spurting tears) Have a 5 yr old and a 6mth old who doesn't sleep very easily...so a bit worried about it but have to get a life somehow! I'm thinking Green man. What does everyone else think?

frecklicious we've just bought tickets for Green Man and will be taking DD who will be 13 months then, so on here scouring for tips. I've not been before but DP has and says its very family friendly, as long as its not a mud bath. Personally I'm going with a very open mind as it's going to be a very different experience to a festival pre-DD!

We've taken our dc's to this festival for he past two years and are going back again this year. Dd was 6months when she went for the first time and ds was 2y4m.

Yes a festival post dc is a different experience to pre dc, but a much more fulfilling one. You get up earlier, without a hangover Grin, get talking to everyone, ESP when bf dd, see different things and my highlight last year was watching the levellers close with ds sat on my shoulders, telling me how cool I was, and then spending weeks telling everyone about he didgeridoo he saw.

Depending on how close you want to get to he musician have seen lots of dc with these, I haven't bothered before, but am getting the dc's some his year as hey are getting older and want to see more.

Finding this encouraging as we're about to take our 3 yr old and 9 mo old to their first festival. WE're seasoned festival goers, but am bracing myself for just how different an experience it will be post-kids...alternately excited and dreading it atm!!
