Did you support Myra Hindley's pleas for her release?

I couldn't understand why she kept asking for parole. Surely she came to an understanding of how terrible her crimes were?

I read quite a lot on this over the years.

Myra thought, because she was a woman, she would walk in the end. She only showed remorse when it suited her bids for parole and to try and sway public opinion in her favour.

I don't think she ever felt any genuine remorse, as if, she had realised the depravity of the crimes, she'd have known she didn't deserve to get out and instead, fought so hard for her freedom. Which taunted the victims families further.

She would of got killed, if she was ever released anyway, so her not getting parole, saved her life.

Reckon she just lived in hope she would be out eventually.

If you were sent to jail for the rest of your life and you could appeal in which ever way you could then surely you would?whether you think you deserve it or not.

Let's not forget there's still a body on the moors that Brady won't give the location of. Winnie has died not knowing where her ds is. I wouldn't wish that on anyone. Brady and hindley deserve nothing less than hell

I totally agree, no hope for parole unless she divulges the burial place for poor Keith whose Mother has died not knowing.. otherwise how is she showing remorse, rehabilitation etc?
I know she's died but that would be the minimum conditions surely?

I guess she kept asking in the hope that one day it would happen. Her crimes were too heinous though, she played an active part, I think she was a manipulative psychopath, didn't she have an affair with a prison officer and try and escape at one point? I think she managed to wrap a lot of people round her little finger, including those who helped her apply for release:

The old next door neighbour worked in one of the prisons she was about15 years ago. She was unrecognisable towards the end.

I'm glad she was never released and glad that Brady won't be either.

We went for a walk last week up on the moors where the children were/are buried. It's beautiful in a terribly bleak and wild way and it's heartbreaking to think of those poor children alone up there with those monsters. On the footpath gates there are flowers and unofficial memorials to Keith. It's horrible to think he's still there somewhere. His poor mum Sad

Sweets her hair wasn't bleached anymore and she was in her late 50's back then.

New inmates didn't recognise her although they would find out sharpish off the guards and fellow prisoners.

Good god, no.

I'm glad she didn't ever get released. I hope Brady dies behind bars, too.

There's been local rumours going back years about Hindley being in a relationship with Rose West whilst in Durham.

No idea if it's true but they were in Durham at the same time.

Well I would imagine she looked a little different 40 odd years after her arrest, yes!

Can prisoners get their hair dyed? Who cuts their hair? I've never thought about that really.

Everyone ages, she aged beyond recognition. Women going into the jail who would of know she was in (as it was locally well known back then) didn't realise it was her.

Of course prisoners can get their hair cut and dyed.

You can do NVQ in Hair and Beauty in custody and your practical work is on your fellow prisoners.

I don't know if she knew where Keith is. Something tells me she would've told, had she known, to bolster her claims of reform.

I read somewhere that the ground shifts up on the moors.I think they left it too late to show where Keith was buried. But his poor Mother upon the Moors looking for him.It was heartbreaking.

I'm glad she was never released as the crimes where really awful.I hope Brady dies a slow and painful death.
