Hi
So recently last few weeks I've been on job seekers then this week I applied for UC. Was due job seekers payment today but not in bank account, does that automatically stop just because I applied to UC?
I don't know if I've been accepted for UC for five weeks I think as waiting for someone to call when look at online journal.
Didn't want JSA to stop straight away as that's my only income😢. I am looking, coronavirus made me redundant.

When did you claim exactly? As of 22/07 there is now a two week run on of JSA after a claim for UC. If you claimed earlier than that then it is possible your JSA has been stopped although you should be owed something as it is paid in arrears. Your best bet is to just give them a call

You can ask for an advance payment of your UC which will then be clawed back from your monthly payments.

Your jobseekers should continue regardless, your UC will be reduced because you are receiving that though. If you should have been paid JSA today and haven’t give them a phone.

You would have been claiming new style JSA based on national insurance contributions. It would not stop or be affected by claiming universal credit. Maybe chase that up (The amount of universal credit that you get will be lower due to the JSA)

Thank you everyone. I didn't read it would stop anywhere in the UC application so will give them a call.
All confusing when new but sure it will all become clear after a few months if accepted 🤞🏼

The first proper payment of universal credit should be paid in five weeks time but you can decide whether to ask for an advance payment that you pay back from future payment of universal credit.

New style JSA would not stop but would be deducted pound for pound from UC at an averaged monthly amount.

Thanks - I spoke with them and apparently JSA has gone through but it got processed a couple days late....
Nothing received as yet. I thought it would consistently be paid on the same day every 2 weeks so bit disappointed tbh. Sounds pathetic but I was looking forward to it and seeing one transaction go into the bank instead of out, out, out!
