I’m so upset I bought my daughter a beautiful dress for her prom she had it altered at a local shop who also sell them. She said she would sell it for us after she had worn it.
It was a cranberry red colour and immaculate I took it to the shop about a month ago the owner wasn’t there I left it with an older lady in the shop.
I called her and she asked what I wanted for it I told her and she agreed that was a fair price and would take 25% commission.
I called in yesterday after they had it a month to see if there was any paperwork for me and she said the dress was marked did I know and I didn’t know what to say as I was so shocked as it was immaculate. I’m so upset would anyone know what my rights are. The only explanation I can think of is that she’s hired or lent it out and it’s ruined. I need to know my rights to move forward. I thought I was better off selling in a shop than selling it myself now I wish I hadn’t.
