Sorry, too early in the morning for a more imaginative title!
Relatively low spend weekend so far here. Drinks with friends on Friday night. Spent most of yesterday at cricket, £10 for ds' subs, but had free tea as I made them. Once dd got back from scoring at the first team game, we made pizzas (dough prepped in the morning & left to prove) & she gave me a leg massage & some footcare!
GP was lovely on Thursday. The conclusion was, likely peri menopause, plenty of self care (better quality sleep, regular exercise, healthy eating). I'm also going to try Menopace over the counter supplements. I'm having an ECG to check re the palpitations but a couple of friends have had similar at a similar age and they have improved with vitamin supplements so we'll see.
This morning the u10 team ds coaches have a game so I am doing bacon & sausage butties for them. Then later, dh & I are on house & garden duties while ds plays again and dd is doing the scoring for him.

Cricket season in full swing. It must cost your a fortune in food or do you get expenses?
Pleased the GP was good.

Just checking in, I only post sporadically though.

Money saving is going quite well, and I've done a decent amount of overtime this month. We might have a barbecue later 🙂.

life I'm not out of pocket, there is a budget which comes from subs, so all costs are reimbursed. I have taken it on this season to turn it into a fund raiser. At the moment I'm doing it on my own to figure out what works best & then will build a small army of volunteers (I hope!) to share the load.

Thanks @Wolfcubisthefemalenominal, and thanks for new thread @northender.

DH has taken DS to football and DD is napping so I'm currently sitting with my feet up. I have lots to do but I'm getting quite a bit of back pain over the last few days (mainly caused by lifting and carrying DC) so I'm trying to take it easy. Unfrugally I've put clothes Into the dryer but I guess there is no point in taking it easy and then straining my back again hanging clothes up outside.

I just tried to post on the old thread, I am so tired.

Submitted my final assignment, now just waiting to hear if it needs anything extra in it. Then it will be done.

Will be back on the frugaleering once i’ve recovered.

Nsd.

Put paneer in the chickpea and spinach curry tonight and it's amazing.

Yum I love paneer curry Wreck. We are having very exciting bacon baguettes. I have watered my pots, got ds to bottom the shite under his bed (bit knackered as I’ve had to manhandle the mattress and slats out of the room and back in again) and taxied to various events.

Moved money onto credit card to pay for recent weekend away, money not due until June but I didn’t like seeing it with a balance

Ringing orthodontist first thing in the morning hope it isn’t going to cost too much, h has said he will contribute but he’s being a massive dick about having ds whilst I have a pre big birthday dinner with some colleagues next week so I’m not holding my breath

Slight issue with our upcoming holiday. Pil's said they would pay for car hire but looking like they won't be able to now. Anyone have any recommendations? It seems we're looking at £500 odd for the week Sad plus £70 x2 for car seats for the dc which is absurd. Considering packing booster seats which I would never allow the dc to use over here but our cheap holiday is increasing by 50% as it is. If they decide they can't even come we will have to foot the rest of the villa cost too.

Few spend in town today. Will be ordering dd some jump suits in a bid to get her out of her skinny jeans for the year 6 disco

Lovemaltesers · 19/05/2019 19:16

How stressful wreck. How soon is the holiday? Would it be better just to cancel instead?

Report
WreckTangled · 19/05/2019 19:20

It's in August. If we cancel we will lose the flights and still have to pay for the villa (or at least lose the deposit I suppose? Pretty sure it was no cancellation). Worst case it goes on a credit card I suppose. Have found some cars for £60 for the week but am a bit sceptical. MSE says to get out separate excess insurance which is only £16 and seems a good idea (thanks wolf) so hopefully work out. Just need to consider the car seat options. Hopefully they will sort things out and I won't need to worry

Also tried to post on the old thread and then lost the post!

Thanks North how old are you (if you don't mind me asking!) am wondering when peri menopausal starts.... glad your G.P was helpful.

Nice to have you back happier and cag

Thats annoying wreck where are you going on holiday? I'm trying to remember who we used when we went to Menorca, will have a think...

Wolf sorry to hear ex is being a dick.

We have had a nice but spendy day, met friend for a coffee which turned into brunch £8, £18 in Poundland on loads of bits and £42 in Boots on my face cream (on offer 3 for 2) and a few other things.

Then went and booked my flooring £420 Shock and will be another £100 when they've done it. Went for a slightly more expensive laminate but hopefully will be worth it. Have moved some savings about to cover it....

Thanks for the new thread. Happier I'd lapsed too but jumped back in towards the end of the previous thread. It's good to be back.
Spent £20 in Aldi this morning on stuff we make a special trip to Aldi for eg moisturiser, sun cream. Definitely worth the trip for suncream it was only £1.99 for a bug tube. Managed to avoid the central aisle of doom too.
