Best (cheap) tin of soup?

I like Aldi's Tomato and Basil, but just tried their Cream of Chicken and Mushroom, and it was pretty grim - lots of fatty bits of ?chicken - yuck.

Looking for other Aldi soups that are okay, or can anyone recommend something from the Tesco basics type range?

Thanks

It's not Tesco, but I quite like the Asda smart price Tomato soup.

Asda's mushroom soup.

hmm - food for thought. I like Heinz tomato but generally only get it for like 4 tins on offer.

And of course if Covent Garden is on offer, get that.

@twirlbaby thanks for the tip - will try that one.

We think Aldi’s Cream of tomato is almost identical to Heinz- if not a bit nicer!

Ace - on tomorrow's shopping list - I've only seen the tomato and basil one, but will look out for cream of tomato

Lidl chunky chicken and veg, or beef and veg. Delicious. They do cheese topped rolls on the bakery section as well Wink yum!

Pretty sure the marks and Spencer's chicken soup is 50p a tin and my kids love it.

Have just tried the Asda cream of mushroom. For 39 pence that was pretty good.

We have a co-op in the village - next time I'll have a look for their 3 bean and tomato one. Looks promising.

Thanks everyone

Sainsbury's Tomato & Three Bean Soup, from the Be Good To Yourself range is now one of my lunchtime staples. £0.45. It tastes good, it's cheap, not very calorific and really does fill you up. (Sorry I know you asked for Aldi and Tesco!)

makae your own - easy and way cheaper. soups are so easy to do. made a lentil bacon and tomato tonight that will keep me going for ages.

freeze some. use when needed - much nicer than shop bought and couldnt be easier or cheaper to cook.

i also have a £4.99 hand blender from tesco which i use to whizz my soups to preferred consistency.

cooking your own takes 30 mins. stock and whatever you want in it really. but google recipes. honestly doing your own is a revelation!! ill never buy a tin again!

My Dcs love Aldi Chicken soup, it has carrots and pasta in it. It's in a big can and less than a quid I think.

Aldi garden pea and mint, also their chunky beef and veg or chunky chicken and veg, think they are 55p each, very similar to the same but by Asda that is 65p or Heinz big soups, very nice
