Hello! Found you :-)

FridgeCut · 21/07/2017 08:50

Thanks for the new thread.

Intending today to be a no spend day. First day of the holidays but just a normal Friday as we are normally home on a Friday.

The weather looks nice so I'm going to catch up on washing and maybe do some tidying.

Taytocrisps · 21/07/2017 08:50

Thanks Snuggly

ememem84 · 21/07/2017 09:06

Yay thanks snuggly

Pay day today! Day off has started well.

Tea in bed. Have had a scoot through Facebook. Have had a watch of the trailer for the new "jigsaw" movie coming out around Halloween - spoiler alert it's not about jigsaw puzzles...!!! I won't watch it because the saw movies grossed me out and scared the bejesus out of me. But it does look good. I thought the first few were really clever. Gross and squishy gore fest but cleverly written.

Today we are going to collect a Moses basket. £20 on local fb baby selling group. we had mused about buying new. But decided against it.

The "safety" things will be new - car seat pram. But from what I've read Moses basket is only useful up to a max of about 12 weeks so no point buying full price.

LonelyOversharer · 21/07/2017 09:12

Thanks snuggly just checking in so this thread is on my page when I open it!

Soooo nice not to have to get up for the school run. Dd1 looted £6 for lunch (half day), and I have totally sinned and spent £5 on a lovely cardi/jacket pattern, and £70 Shock on gorgeous tweedy yarn in a soft aqua to make it with. Summer holiday project. Did get 10% off the yarn for signing up for newsletters. Will put up pic once yarn arrives. The internet + credit card combination is dangerous! Probably a few more balls than I need, but it looks to be discontinued so wanted to be sure.

Right, am off to start my summer tidy/declutter job on this wretched house. I am setting the timer into 20 minute slots, and will do it in tiny chunks. Honestly the job is huge, I can't just 'do' the hall, I have to find the hall before I can start to declutter. Will do quick jobs like laundry and washing up between the 20 minutes. You know those hoarder programmes where they have to edge round the stuff to move around? That's us. But I have had enough.

WreckTangled · 21/07/2017 09:27

We don't break up until Tuesday. Humph.

Em yes good plan re the Moses basket.

Thanks for the new thread Smile

Collecting food shopping later and need fuel so spendy day.

FridgeCut · 21/07/2017 09:39

Think I will take W out at lunch time to collect my next and school shop orders. I think we need loo roll so might see if I can get some in the poindship.

Loveabaconsandwich · 21/07/2017 10:05

wheely are people charging their phones/tablets over night in your house?

Cagliostro · 21/07/2017 10:10

Lonely sounds like my house! I would love to have a massive clear out but just have to go gradually. It's helping that DD's ballroom club is next to a charity shop so we are trying to get at least one bag of donations to drop off each Saturday. There's so much stuff, I'd love to try and sell but it just doesn't seem worth the hassle for a few quid, so I'm writing it off.

Spends this morning £5 in Druckers on selva and Pepsi after getting monitor removed, totally worth it for a bit of peace and quiet with my kindle! Happy to be able to enjoy reading again, it made me feel sick for ages. Confused

Then £8 in Boots as I found a vest and onesie in cute dinosaur patterns. DD is going to be ecstatic to dress her little sibling in those!

CremeEggThief · 21/07/2017 12:49

Thanks Snuggly.Star

Lonely, want a hand?? That's just my sort of thing!

SnugglySnerd · 21/07/2017 12:54

I'm having a clear out too. I'm going to brave the loft over the weekend...

Thanks, quick check in while on lunch

Fluffycloudland77 · 21/07/2017 13:30

Thanks Snuggly

£5 aldi. Cat food for what I think is a stray, coconut oil & shampoo to use as delicate clothes wash.

Loveabaconsandwich · 21/07/2017 13:44

em I think the recommendation with used Moses baskets and cots is to get a new mattress? Sure someone else will know. We ended up buying DD2 a new cot mattress which was no where near as nice as DD1s one as did not have as much cash then.

My brother sent belated Birthday DVDs to DD1 of Moana, and Beauty and the beast so having a film afternoon. Wild and windy weather here today and DD2 was a bit sick and DD1 is still contagious.

Was annoyed though. My bedding set I wanted reduced by another £10. I also finally had enough gift vouchers for it apart from maybe £1.50. But then when I went to pay, debenhams only let you use two payment methods. So one gift card and cc, not four gift cards plus cc. Is that normal? Angry

ememem84 · 21/07/2017 14:38

love yes I think we'll get a new mattress.

Girliefriendlikesflowers · 21/07/2017 14:41

Thanks Snuggly

Emotional morning at the church watching the leavers assembly, have got a migraine now so have knocked back coffee and painkillers to try and get rid of it, not working yet Sad

Weather here is abysmal Hmm such a shame as dd meant to be going on an open top bus and has a party outside after that!!

Fluffycloudland77 · 21/07/2017 14:46

Love no it's not. I'd email the CEO & explain you're very disappointed.

John Lewis would let you pay with multiple cards.

£12 eBay work stuff. Got 120 nectar points from the nectar app.

£10 instant MasterCard from Ipsos surveys. Not arrived Hmm] so not that bloody instant.

Will get dhs px if it's ready later.

Laska5772 · 21/07/2017 15:09

Checking in!

Laska5772 · 21/07/2017 15:21

£37.78 diesel and £59 in Tescos .. ( I had to go over that side of the island for work this pm so got my fuel and weekend shop there .) .

Just got home early Grin - no point going backon a friday afternoon for an hour or so eh? Wink though boss just called so he knows I'm here so id better check some emails or something.. (he's cools about it though )

I have heard back from pensions at last .. all good - now have to decide what and when!

Sciatica stil but the combo od paracetamol /codeine and Ibruphophen definately helping .

Ottolenghi turkey and courgette burgers for dinner - these are really yum and definately worth making even if you dont have a courgette glut.. However if you do need any I can send you a truckload! ......

Will prep those then its down to ferry to collect DH aftre which we will have a cheeky glass of Rosé I think.. ( shame its not sunny here )

Cagliostro · 21/07/2017 15:48

Must be super emotional watching the year sixes leave. I was bad enough when DD left infants! Thanks

Been cooking with DH, I wish I didn't find it so tiring (the cooking itself I mean, being with DH is quite nice really :o) but it's worth getting some meals in the freezer. Cheese sauce, bolognese and a huge vat of my usual tomato and veg sauce, except this time I've added red lentils to sneak into the Caglets!

Love courgette. DD does too now. DH grated a load into the bolognese to bulk it out

SnugglySnerd · 21/07/2017 16:37

I just spent 40 mins vacuuming the entire house including the extractor in the bathroom, cobwebs, everything only for the bloody cat to fling cat litter all over the place as soon as I finished. Little git. I'm sure he did it on purpose as he hates the vacuum.

Happy weekend everyone!

OP posts:
Cagliostro · 21/07/2017 16:48

Aaargh bloody cat! Yep undoubtedly on purpose. Well done for all that hoovering anyway.

I'm trying not to get too ahead of myself here, but DH informs me that it looks like we are now only about 32nd on the housing list... if this is as the numbers suggest means lots more people have been housed, it could be a whole lot quicker than we thought! Scary but exciting!

Also we are thinking of hiring a skip. It's tricky as we don't have time to do a massive declutter so we've been doing it gradually but there's still loads of big stuff we can't take with us - some of which is already outside and other stuff like the caglets' bed frames which will absolutely not last the move. Argh.
