Regardless of being frugal, cutting back or just buying what you want?
How much do you spend weekly or monthly on food & toiletries/cleaning stuff.?

I spend £40 a week. That's two adults and a cat.

I don't include wine/toiletries in that because its a different shopping budget.

We spend about £150 per week for 2 adults and 2 tween boys. No deliberate frugality, but we do make the most of offers.

About 40-50 a week for 2 adults. That includes all packed lunches but I'd spend more in weeks when we need lots of cleaning stuff or toiletries.

About £120 a week for 2 adults, a three year old and a 3 month old. That includes milk for baby. Sometimes it can be £150 (washing powder etc) and sometimes it can be £80 if we need to be careful.

I spend approx £40 per month on my main shop and then maybe £10 or just less on weekly top ups. I also spend approx £100 odd every 3 months or so on dry food and toiletries/cleaning stuff.

So that works out at about £30 a week ish?

About £50 for food for 3 of us plus 2 dogs. Doesn't include nappies or wine, which is another budget. This does include quite a lot of meat, the occasional bit of nice fish from the market and all packed lunches. Every 6 weeks or so I'll spend about £60-70 and stock up on cleaning stuff, tins etc.

At least £150 per week for 3 children (almost teen) and 2 adults. We all eat loads and my DH works from home so lunches here as do I.

I've probably spent closer to £200 this week as we had friends over at the weekend and more this weekend. Socialising costs loads esp if you include wine in that. Includes all toiletries and cleaning products.

I try and budget by going to Aldi but end up topping up in Tesco, Sainsbury's and Waitrose and probably spend even more than I would if I just went to one shop!

£50 a week 2 adults and 1 15 month old. I have now started to go to the local market for fruit and veg, so may have it down a bit. Nappies come from my mil as she works in a supermarket and gets discounts sometimes she takes money for them sometimes she refuses. I buy things in bulk a lot. And bulk cook.

We used to spend approx. £390 on food, toiletries and cat food - two adults and one teenager. Due to unforeseen circumstances have had to cut back and I've got it down to approx. £225 a month.

Oops - should have clarified that's 85 a week (or around 400 per month). I'm a sucker for offers / 2-for-1's / vouchers etc too.

Currently £100 per week for 2 adults and 3 children, that's all nappies/laundry/cleaning/toiletries etc included.

I get a Hello Fresh box for me and DP for Mon-Fri and the kids have school dinners then a smaller meal at home.
The weekends we have something from the freezer/store cupboard.

We spend about £120 per week for 2 adults, 2 children and a cat. We make the most of vouchers etc. We could probably spend less if we cut back on snacks, junk and booze

About £70 a week on everything for 2 adults and a cat. Was previously about £50-60 but we have been stocking up on nappies etc as DC1 is due soon. We get our shopping delivered as we live in the middle of nowhere, so never manage to get to lidl etc. we are moving soon and I will be glad to be somewhere that the nearest supermarket is 45 mins away!

Thank you all, as always I'm trying not to spend £££s.
Theres a wide range there. I had this conversation with my sister. she said her oh spends £60 a fortnight! Hows he do that?
I think on average a budget of £90 a week for 3 grown ups, pack lunches for all & toiletries is a nice & affordable amount. I will include wine etc in that.
I have menu planned from the freezer for this week and just got some nice reduced stuff from m&s, a chicken ,mince, steak & fish for under £10. I get some fruit there (an indulgence for ds or he won't eat anything green).
Its so easy to just pick up anything you fancy with half of it feeding the rats at the tip.??

About 150-200€ per week. 2 adults, 3 young DCs. All meals are taken or prepared at home. Everything is cooked from scratch and we have meat nearly every day. We go through lots of fresh fruit too.
It includes toiletries, nappies and DH's booze.

Nope not reading it wrong!

I do a shop every month where I just buy frozen veg that's the £40 ish.

Then we spend approx £10 per week on milk/eggs and fresh fruit.

Then another £100 odd every 3 ish months on pasta/rice/lentils/flour/yeast etc plus value tinned toms and stock cubes, coffee/sugar, toiletries, toilet paper, cleaning stuff (buy a huuuge bottle of dish soap, several lots of washing stuff and then vinegar/bicarb) plus this is when we buy large blocks of cheese/butter which get cut up and frozen and about 4-5 lots of 3 for £10 meat packs which also get divided and frozen.

I make all our bread, make stuff like cereal bars and snacks for packed lunches and only have home baking.

It's like this because we don't have more than that to spend. Tbh if I could cut it down further I would as we can't afford heating and we live in the highlands in a house above the snow line so it's always cold. It's a choice between heating and eating though so we have lots of warm clothes and extra blankets.
