Dishwasher tablet economy

I have a Bosch slimline dishwasher and am finding I get a brilliant wash using half a tablet rather than a whole one - great am pleased - tend to use the Aldi ones and also I use separate salt and rinse aid - have read that the all in ones are not recommended by dishwasher engineers in hard water areas and that you are better off to use separate salt.

Ooh yes I do that too! Makes my teeth itch when I hear people say they use expensive tabs.

Aldi own brand household cleaners are not tested on animals either.

Thanks Ill try them.

I hate forking out for finish, but I obviously like the dishes clean.

I just started to use Almat liquid tabs from Aldi and they are fab.

We use Ecover tabs and everything comes out clean. We don't bother with rinse aid - made no difference to the cleaning so I don't waste money on it. If only my life was so empty that I cared about streaky cutlery!!

CallMeNancy how do you know how much powder to put in? We use dishwasher tablets atm but also put salt in the dishwasher otherwise the glasses look cloudy. Currently using Asda value ones which work out as 5.6p a wash they seem fine, but I'm wondering if powder would work out even cheaper.

I used tesco daisy but I can't find anything to say its cruelty free so I used aldi instead.

I used to use one dessert spoon of tesco powder per wash & I'd get over 200 cycles per box yes I marked each cycle on the box

Thank you for doing the maths CallMeNancy. I'll give it a go next time I'm in Tesco.
