Scrivener problems

I've just bought this, and have got part-way through the tutorial. Unfortunately, I'm finding it very difficult - I just can't 'see' the structure and part of me wonders if I'll actually use some of the features. Is there anywhere that shows how it works in a more graphic way?
I'm considering just jumping in and writing - have others done it that way?

I have messed about with scrivener and I think you only get the best out of it if you are really into structured planning. I am at heart a pantser and so found it over complex and annoying. I just use Google docs and get on with it. I do have separate docs for plot notes, character notes and other useful bits and bobs, but I write and add to them as I go, more as a memory aid, rather than doing them in advance.

I love scrivener, but it took me a long time to get used to it. I think I just used it like Word to start with and then got more into the features over time. I found it too much to grasp at once

I'm also using it much like Word right now. I am sure it takes time to get the best use out of it? I've heard so many positives, there must be more than what meets the eye at the moment. 😁

I love Scrivener. Would happily use it for the long reports of my day job too.

It does take time to get used to, and like you the Scrivener tutorial finished me off. The pay off is worth it though. Try youtube for some scrivener basics, if you learn better that way. One of the writing blogs I follow, can't remember which, ran a free 1 hour or so Scrivener tutorial online a couple of years ago, and that was enough to get me sorted.

I love Scrivener. I find it really useful for my endless writing scraps
It can depend what version you're using. I use the Windows one which was fantastic but got very frustrated with the iOS app. I've heard the Mac version is good though.
