Just joined with the purpose of boosting my chances of getting published, any pointers for who to follow? I already have a few (mainly writers I like) Authors, agents, creative writing tutors, writers websites that give out pointers-that sort of thing. Any ideas?

I would suggest following The Bookseller. It's the industry magazine and it tells you who's moving, who's leaving, who's "building a list". It also has information about sales and publishing trends and charts. I also have a subscription so I get basic newsletters, but not the detailed ones as I don't pay the annual membership.

Just for interest (I'm not a writer) I follow:

@hayfestival
@FaberAcademy
@WritersatRandom (penguin)
@PenguinClassics
@PenguinUKBooks
@simonschuster
@FaberBooks
@Waterstones (good for publicising who's visiting the stores around the country)
@GaimanFND (supporting freedom of speech, the written word etc)
