I thought I'd put this here already but didn't realise there was a 'creative writing club' as well as this section. If I've been very daft and ended up posting twice, I'll report myself .
This looks like a great opportunity - Jenny Brown is one of the UK's top agents, and she - with others - is offering free 15-minute pitch slots during Book Week Scotland 2014.
I'm not any of the people mentioned here if this looks dodgy - it really is free, and seems completely genuine grin . . .
FREE PITCH SESSION DURING BOOK WEEK SCOTLAND
Thursday 27 November 10.30 - 3.30pm at Looking Glass Books, Edinburgh
So you’ve written a book. What next? Is the fear of the slush pile holding you back? Do you want expert advice on your writing?
Look no further! As part of Book Week Scotland we’re inviting you to come in and pitch your idea to agents Jenny and Lucy from Jenny Brown Associates. Jenny represents authors of fiction and non-fiction and Lucy specialises in work for children and young adults.
We'll be joined on the sofa by Jo Dingley, Editor from Canongate and Eleanor Collins, Editor from Floris. On hand to add her expertise as a bookseller is Gillian Robertson from Looking Glass Books. Whether it’s fiction, non-fiction, or for children and young adults, we’re here to listen to your idea and advise you on what to do next.
Book your 15 minute slot by emailing [email protected] or popping in to the shop to book a place. Places are free but allocated on a strictly first come, first served basis, in advance. Please make sure you book an appointment.
