We are thinking of moving to a house in a village in the area north of Limavady and I was wondering if anyone had any insight in to primary schools in Limavady or those areas? We have family around there but they haven’t had kids at the schools for a number of years. Is it very competitive to get in, as our eldest might have to move in-year. Any other information that anyone has about living in that area would be great. I know more about the area around coleraine but found a house we love so considering this area, and we know it is beautiful and quite rural. Thanks in advance.

Thank you so much @LadyEloise for bumping. I’ve realized that this area might be too rural and the local primary school was closed down so we are now thinking about Coleraine more seriously. If anyone could tell us what it is like to live in for families that would be great. We think the schools are good but any recommendations would help. We would love to meet some other families and find out what there is to do in the area. Also are there any parts of coleraine that you would recommend or not consider? Probably should start a new thread but I’ll give this a go first Smile

There's an excellent primary school in Portrush. Mill Strand Integrated PS. I have no idea of how East it is to get in to. Sorry

On that side of the Bann probably Hezlett would have a good reputation for a small country school near Castlerock
DH Christie ( big school) or StJohn catholic in Coleraine
Castleroe or Macosquin popular too

I know of people who sent kids to Drumachose in Limavady and had all good to say about it

Ah thank you for the help @notanotherpothole and @blubberyboo. I think Portrush is probably too far but I know of one or two or those that @blubberyboo mentioned, so it’s good to hear of those. We are still looking around and trying to make a decision about whether to put our house on the market. We would be moving away from one set of grandparents and moving closer to the other set, I think my parents would be so upset if we move away with our kids, but we think we might have a better lifestyle in NI.
So hard to know what is best.
