Home help/nursing care in Dublin

Hello. My parents both have cancer, both terminal, though my DF sooner than my DM. She can still get around, go to supermarket etc, not quite sure what he'll be up for when he gets out of hospital.

My brother and I both live abroad.

I'd like to investigate home help for sort of now-ish, just to give them an extra hand.

And then I'd like to be prepared to ramp up something a bit more like nursing care/personal care when things get more difficult.

Really grateful for any recommendations. Thank you.

Contact their Public health nurse in their area and apply for free home help hours for them. Contact the nearest primary care office of the HSE to source the home help iykwim .
Good luck with it all

Sorry to hear this .
They are entitled to at least 3 (maybe 4) calls a day plus meals on wheels.

While your dad is in hospital is the perfect time to organise this through the hospital social worker. He needs a home care package. PM me. I've been through this with my (recently deceased) dm.
