Yes. Seriously.

Foster reckons that as Sinn Fein are effectively pro-abortion, many Nationalists will vote anti-abortion DUP.

I was talking to a relative up North and she was surprised by the very strong views against abortion held by her relatives both young and old.
Now whether they'd vote DUP I'm not sure.

I'm surprised, as if anything, the Catholic Church in Éire has clearly lost its grip.

I wouldn't be surprised if some do i think although not many.

I was at a funeral with DS2 who was about a month old when the campaigning was going on and one of the musicians came over and made a huge fuss of him when we were talking to the priest on the way out. He was utterly fervent about saving the 8th. I disagreed but a funeral wasn't the time to get into an argument about it. I could absolutely see him voting DUP.

Saying that, there'd be no chance the DUP would win in that area and I'm not even sure they stand a candidate there but still...

Why would they vote for the DUP when the SDLP provide a nationalist but suitably “women know your limitations” alternative? Ridiculous woman. They must be getting panicky if they are going after the shinner’s vote.

I actually could see this happening, I live in the north and most people I know were disgusted at the result down south.

Among my friends, only one has publicly declared support for the forced birthers by sharing a status from precious life on Facebook.

I was pretty shocked at who it was, she used to be a feminist. She is from a very rural community, but then, so are others who support choice.

The SDLP are anti-abortion but have decided not to enforce the party whip on this issue. So any strongly anti-abortion nationalists would presumably check the personal position of their local SDLP candidate first. Areas with a pro-choice SDLP candidate might attract special interest anti-abortion nationalist candidates as well (although that would still effectively hand advantage to the DUP).
