(25 Posts)I'm hoping and praying for a good outcome and that Jastine will be found.
Her poor family and friends must be out of their minds with worry and shock.
What a shame the owner of the SUV can't be questioned now.
Horrendous to think that something like this happens in broad daylight
Yes, this is really shocking. She may be held somewhere and the person who abducted her now cannot be questioned. Or she may have been murdered. I wonder if this person has abducted before.
Fair play to the woman who had the presence of mind to take the car reg.
Just read this Irish Times article which says the Guards may link the dead man to other unsolved sex crimes in the area.
Please god Jastine is found safe.
Saying a prayer May. I'm from south county Dublin myself. This man wasn't even in their radar.
Ah, okay he had come to their attention before. The report isn't optimistic that she'll be found alive.
Sending prayers from England
Apparently a body has been found
Yes, very sad.
Oh no, I was still hoping. This is local to us. Poor, poor girl.
I was hoping against hope.
Her poor parents, family and friends.
She's an only child.
Just awful.
Tragic and brutal,, such a beautiful young woman RIP.
Oh, I've just seen the news now. Awful.
RIP Jastine.
The gardai believe she was murdered within 45 mins to 1 hour after being abducted.
Esra Uryun - a woman missing from Clondalkin since 2011 - her car was found in Bray. It had been seen on CCTV and it didn't appear to be a woman driving. Excerpt/ photo is from a 2016 newspaper Echo.ie
I can't do links perhaps another Craicnetter could put up the link here please.
Her poor family/friends too.
There is a GoFundMe appeal for her family if anyone would like to contribute, even €5 makes a difference.
I can't imagine how her parents must feel. Enniskerry feels like the least likely place in the world for something like this to happen.
Thanks May
This all ended very close to where I grew up, and my mum lives there still. She mentioned the abduction to me on the phone. It's shocking to see photos of places where I went on my bike as a child with crime scene tape all over.
The Elaine O'Hara case also involved a location close to my mum's home.
I hope the Gardai will resolve other cases based on this incident, though it's chilling to think of someone committing a series of murders and getting away with them. He was a sub-contractor too, I understand, so in and out of people's homes. A pity he was shot dead. But maybe he left records. If it turns out he was responsible for other crimes, maybe families can feel a small sense of relief from knowing.
My mum is a bit freaked out by it all and heartbroken for the family of Jastine, especially as she was an only child.
Math that's my old stomping ground too!
It's a small world!
Weren't the Valdez family amazing to meet up with the Hennessy family ?
So many heartbreaking murders of young people in the last few weeks.
They showed such compassion for his family who are also victims.
An 18 year old lad Cameron Reilly was murdered in the early hours of Saturday morning in Dunleer. Gardai suspect he was strangled in front of his friends.
I saw that Honey.
The poor lad and his distraught family.
And beautiful Ana too in Lucan.
An 18 year old has been arrested this morning in the Cameron Reilly case.
