Clarks shoes are having a laugh right ?
A Clarks shoe priced at £55 ( so €64 approximately ) on their UK site costs €80 in Ireland.

This seems to be getting worse - M&S nearly doubled the sterling price on a dress I wanted Angry

I'm in the Netherlands (lived in Ireland years ago and popped in here to see what this board is about). We have the same problems with prices here, British shops charge much more in euros than in ££.
You can sometimes set the currency to £ and it helps bit you need to be careful as ie WhiteStuff will just convert € to £ so you may still end up paying more.

They cost even more in Italy! Since they started selling in Italy (at more than double the UK price) they have stopped selling online in Italy Angry. I sometimes get Clark's shoes sent to me by Bell's Shoes instead to save a bit - might be an idea?

You may be able to pay in cash sterling. I used to work for M&S in Dublin.

This is a good website for getting reasonable Clarks shoes. www.shoesforkids.co.uk/

I think it's possibly to do with the fact that the UK (this includes the North) has no VAT on kids shoes. Therefore a pair of kids shoes in NI in sterling have no VAT charge in the Republic they would have the difference in the exchange rate plus the VAT.

I could be wrong.

ROI has no VAT on children's shoes either, as far as I know.
I have found the same with Clarkes, couldn't believe the difference and would never pay the euro price for them.

I tried ordering from the Clarks UK site using Parcel Motel and it wouldn't accept the order. It's very frustrating.
If we are willing to pay the cost of delivery I thought it shouldn't matter but I rang Clarks customer care and was told it has to do with franchise agreements.
