Start using Mumsnet PremiumAmount of money to give for a new baby
(3 Posts)Can I ask advice from Irish MNers on what would be a suitable amount of money to give to Irish friends who have just had a new baby? They have another child already so have most of the kit they need, so have asked that if anyone wants to give a gift, cash would be much appreciated. (No poem and I'm happy to give them what they would like, just to head off the CF comments )
But how much would be seen as kind and generous but not too over the top IYSWIM?
I think it depends on how well you know them.
If they were new friends I'd give £20/30. But for someone I knew well or family I'd give £50ish
Thanks two
DH has known them for a little while, I've not known them for as long but now see them on a fairly regular basis
