What's a nice Irish gift to send abroad?

A family I've known here for 12 years is moving back to their home country. I'd love to give them something to take back, but no idea what.
What is an Irish, nice or possibly useful present?

Something from newbridge silverware.
Something edible might also be good!

Oh that's a good idea, like a Newbridge Christmas decoration maybe....

A foxford blanket/throw (or equivalent brand). I love them, they’re so nice in the winter.

Love the Newbridge Christmas Decoration idea, something they will use every year and think of you but not something that may not be their taste and have to be polished!

A Stephen Pierce bowl - lovely for serving whipped cream or fresh fruit.

Avoca also have lovely blankets.

How about a nice framed print of a building, statue, monument from where they currently live?

Some Irish rain in a jar to remind them of what they are not bloody missing!!!! You could probably collect a whole jar in an hour at the mo!

Some lovely ideas but newbridge silverware isn't Irish. It used to be made in kildare but it's now imported from abroad and convincingly marketed as Irish.

The fecker went into administration years ago, and I bought stuff all round me on a visit home, as it’s my default wedding present, thinking there would be no more, ever — and then of course he went back into business and flourished. Grin

He's also seriously over priced. but the stuff lasts and looks fab. Not dishwasher friendly though.

Waterford crystal all made in Eastern europe these days.

Newbridge Silver cutlery and jewellery is still made (designed and manufactured) in Ireland. The other random stuff like photo frames, crystal, etc. is only designed in Ireland but is manufactured abroad.

Not sure where their xmas decorations would be made..!

My Stephen Pearse stuff goes in the dishwasher! I've never had a problem with. My mum puts it in the dishwasher too. Are you not supposed to?

I've given people Belleek before. Their modern stuff is nice. Or Jerpoint glass. Really really beautiful. We got some lovely Jerpoint for our wedding.
