That's a complete emotional wreck? Dd is more exhausted than before the mid term break and sobbing over every bloody thing. Remind me that it'll get better before Christmas...

You've answered your own question, OP!!! Wink Yes, it'll get better. How is life after school and at weekends? Are you very busy doing things? If you can, try to ease back on things for her outside of school time so she has extra time to recharge.

Damn myself for being right. We are keeping thing reaonably low key - swimming mid week and one activity at the weekend, but birthday parties have started and are an emotional minefield! Now we have the prospect of homework to contend with, so that'll be another fun addition. Roll on the Christmas sorry winter festival holidays

I find my DD can be a bit highly strung after school because she was tired/hungry/thirsty so now I try not to speak to her much or ask her to do anything until she has had some chill out time and a drink and snack. Then she is more approachable.
Good luck!

I go to pick up armed with sandwiches and their favourite audio book Grin I've given up on walking home for the moment as even the older one is feeling the same. So much for going back from mid term recharged...
