I'm amazed to be able to say that I like both of them!!

Think Varadkar will be our Taoiseach... will be interesting to see how he does.

I like them both too, but would have a preference for Coveney.
Varadker can come across as blasé at times and I wonder if his popularity is down to charisma rather than ability.
But, yes, definitely interesting times ahead.

I was thinking Coveney and then I thought it will be more of the same old same old.
Perhaps Leo will change things.
I just think this country is a real banana republic and it makes me sad.😰

Varadker would be my preference, Coveney's too conservative plus I've yet to meet a farmer who has a good word to say about him.

This is like asking do I want to be punched in the face or the vag. Can't stand either of them and FG are right wing scum.

Loving the opportunity to watch on Facebook live. Fair play to FG for opening up to us. Very interesting.

I'm with TriJo on this.

I don't think either of them are capable of what needs to be done to fix this country. Housing is at crisis point etc.

I have to agree with TriJo and Auchan.
Both men have expressed pretty conservative views on abortion and Fine Gael is a right wing party. I have a very slight preference for Simon as he seems so bit more earnest and serious-minded. I don't think Leo cares about anything except himself, his campaign to name and shame people convicted of social welfare fraud was sickening, particularly at a time when women were experiencing significant delays in getting their maternity benefits.

FG has been lacking in charisma for quite a while so I would go with Leo.

Is Varadker style over substance?

I think he is holly, yes. He reminds me too much of the tories.
My only consolation is that at least we will have an articulate Taoiseach, whoever wins.
After Enda, Brian & Bertie, that much will be a relief.

Yes. I don't think he understands that this is Ireland. There's not a family in this country without a young person who has been forced to emigrate after a period on the scratch. Nobody believes this awful, cynical and anti social stereotyping.

We live in interesting times.
