NI soap

I think it's about time NI joined soapland. Why hasn't it happened yet? There is currently a lot of filming going on in NI for various big U.K. Or US productions. We have budding actors busting for their big break but having to travel to stand a chance of getting it. Am I alone in thinking NI is now ripe for its own soap?

So, what will we call it? Where will it be based? What big stars will be queueing up to audition Eamon Holmes? maybe Jim macdonald will do a soap swap from Corrie and come back to his roots. What will be the first big storyline?

And most importantly which current soap will move aside to make space for it?

God no! Have you not heard our accent on tv. I will say I did enjoy Glenroe and Ros na Rún way back but thon blade off hollyoaks who played Sally in the fall made my ears bleed

A lot of local programmes make me cringe 'Give My Head Peace' makes me reach for the remote.

Though that prog where they filmed people on their daily commute was so shite it was good.

'BT9' would be good - I'd watch a soap called that easier for UK audiences to understand the accents too

Moving into the Holylands to go to Uni.

Going for a drive to Newcastle for a poke.

Being stuck in traffic on the Westlink and missing yer dinner.

Its a great idea but like a PP I cringe when I hear our accent on TV.

Let's also have a posh family from Malone who has embarrassing relatives who go to primark in their house coats. Or what about a docu drama set in the royal.
