....please tell me all about it. DD is going to the open day on Saturday (without us) and I'm feeling a bit out of the loop. We are British, so if she likes it (and gets a place) she will be a fair way from home. Is it all welcoming and lovely like on the videos, or might she struggle as a non Irish person?

I was there from 2000-2004 Great university, difference from English unis you may find is that halls of residence and students union are not the same as in English unis, means that not so many 1st years live together and larger number in private let's. I loved my time in Dublin studied languages great experience academically and personally

I was there from 1999 - 2003. I had a great experience and met the people who are still my best friends today. I did a health science course which was quite intense in terms of hours

Accommodation in Dublin is a big issue currently (expensive and in huge demand) - would definitely advise halls for first year if possible

Thank you for the replies. DD had a great time at the open day and is quite taken with Trinity and Dublin.
