As title reads, my 9 month old baby uses side of sleepyhead grand like a pillow, 3 times in the last 48 hours Iv gone in to find him perched up on the side fast asleep.

Is this safe? Could he be hurting his neck/ shoulder muscles?

I read the mumsnet article on pods and bumpers and feel the sleepyhead might fall in to that category and could be unsafe.

My baby whilst playing in bed has managed to wedge himself between the cushion and the crib bars, so now knowing he moves around in the night I worry he could wedge himself in a dangerous position.

What do other mumsneters think about sleepyhead safety, and strange sleeping positions?

Both of those situations sound dangerous, there shouldn't be any cushions or pillows in your baby's cot.

Just to add I have moved the sleepyhead out of his crib, as I am too worried, but wanted to see what others thought.

Looking at their website it says it should only be used in a 'supervised environment'.

I used a nest similar to a sleepyhead.

The day DD learnt to roll over/move about in it was the day it got removed from the cot and she started sleeping on just the mattress in her sleeping bag.

That would have been at about 4-5 months

I reintroduced a toddler pillow at around 11.5 months.

I had to put the sleepyhead back in as it took 15 attempts to get him to settle. We have read up and tested that it is breathable should he become face first with the cushion and we have a movement sensor running too. I still worry, but think this is safe for him.
