Why is the Sleepyhead so expensive?

Hoping owners might be able to help.

My parents have kindly offered to buy us a Sleepyhead for our imminent № 3. I know it's not my money, and I can tell that for them it's "reassuringly expensive", but I'm finding it difficult to accept that for what it seems to be, it can be worth that much money.

The manufacturers say it's an award-winning design from Sweden that features multitasking built-in, air-permeable bumpers.

I'd say it's a draft-excluder held in a horseshape by being sewn down to a fabric mat.

The sleepyhead costs £180. There's something on Amazon - the BabyDan Cuddle Nest - that looks very similar and costs £45.

Does anyone have experience of both and can comment on the extra £135 of value the Sleepyhead offers?

Thanks a lot for any helpful info.

I think they're £145 in most places. Is it the deluxe you're looking at? I'e the one for a baby rather than toddler?
My MIL wants to buy us one and I've thought the same, however having looked in to it they do look good. They're the only ones tested as safe to sleep overnight in (good if you travel a lot) Apparently even if their face is up against it, they can still breathe, unlike the cheaper ones.
Everyone that has one seems to love it, so I'm going for it

Just to throw another option into the mix we had a purflo baby nest.

It was great, it's a shame DD has grown out of it now.

I bought a very nearly new (used just a handful of times and still in pristine condition with a new spare cover and still in the original packaging) for £45 second hand. Feels much less wild than spending £145, and I can sell it for probably around the same as I bought it for to buy the bigger size up when needed.

If it's a gift however, I think I'd gracefully accept it and know I can sell it on in the future.
