Ikea Hensvik Cot

Was just wondering if anyone has the Ikea Hensvik Cot and what you think of it?

I am due my first in October and off to Ikea this afternoon just debating whether to purchase or not.

I have seen bedding ranges in other shops that look like they will be too big but if I buy a flat sheet rather than a fitted sheet for the cot will it matter?

Any advice would be welcome. Thanks.

I've got it for my dd, she's 17 months and I'm expecting number 2 in August who will also use it when she's out grown the Moses basket. I love it it's really sturdy and easy to build. It's easy to adjust the mattress height as well. I got a thicker sprig mattress from Tesco rather than Ikea as they were sold out. I've had no problem with bedding I also got that at Tesco, just check the fitted sheets are cot size ( 60x120 )

thank you! we were there yesterday and left it in the end as its our first and we dont have a clue.

it was the height of the sides that put me off and not knowing when they move from cot to bed as i had visions of a gymnast climbing out of it!

its a lovely cot tho loved the matching furniture too.

Yeah I've got the changing unit and wardrobe that match it looks really good. I'm planning on keeping my dd in there until I need it for the new baby then put her in a bed. I looked at cot beds but they're so expensive and then you ance to buy a full size bed anyway. Good luck

I'm thinking of this cot too - like the smaller size due to teeny room being used for baby. Glad to hear you're not limited to Ikea bedding too

Can you remove one side of the UK Hensvik cot from Ikea to covert to a bed? There are no instructions or pictures on the Ikea website but I have seen mixed reviews when I google the make.
