John Lewis White Waffle Moses Basket- is it safe?

I was in John Lewis and spotted this basket which I thought looked quite lovely and reasonably priced too. So I paid for it and I am having it delivered on Friday. I have just looked at reviews out of curiosity and there are people saying it is unsafe because of the mattress not being the right size! The display model looked fine to me, but this is my first child so I'm not really sure what is what. Has anyone got any experience of this particular model?

I had this and it was fine. After the kids grew out of their Moses baskets I used them to store toys in.
