Help - need to protect sleeping baby from 2 toddlers ....

Dear other mums. Can anyone recommend a product or other solution that will protect my sleeping baby from my twins - I need something strongish to put on top of the cot and around it to stop the unwanted gifts from being piled in from on top and through the bars .... The wee one gets upset when I put fabric on top and he cannot see out, so I need some kind of sturdy breathable net that's transparent and that he's not going to get his fingers stuck in.

Any ideas please - really appreciated.

Dee

Oh... Might not stop the presents being pushed through the sides. Although am sure you could stretch one lengthways as well as on the top as long as make sure the baby can't get wrapped up in it (throttling hazard etc...)

Are they sleeping in the same room? If not then a stairgate across the door might work.

Thanks i think the cat net may be the answer - or several. Sadly different rooms not poss at mo as we are a bit too squashed in and baby gets upset if he is on his own! Kids!

You can get the travel cots where the baby is kind of zipped into a 'pod' - don't know if that woiuld make your baby feel claustrophobic?
I tried putting the moses basket and baby gym in a playpen to protect baby from toddler - who took about 2 days to learn how to climb into the playpen and lie under the baby gym with the baby!

Dear Yorky - you paint a wonderful picture! I take it that your baby survived the experience ... We do need a travel cot so I may have a look for a pod like one. Toddlers are oh so resourceful at getting their way!

It is a very cute photo of them both :)

That was DCS 1+2, DC3 spent more time on the floor than in the playpen, and DC4 is due next May and I don't even know where the playpen is atm!

How old are your twins?

By the way OP, do you live in Dartmouth?? Very jealous if so. My PILs are down there and we nearly bought ourselves near the chain ferry...But house proved to be so damp it was nearly floating down the Dart Grin Sad

For PFB DS I sewed 2 cat nets together to 'cocoon' the cot as our cat could fit through the side bars.

I have just realised that I didn't bother protecting DD1 or 2 from the cat Blush. I often wonder how they survived to be now 4 & 2 without the myriad of safety measures I had for my PFB Grin

My friend used to put the sleeping baby in moses basket inside a play pen.
