Cots and beds

Can anyone recommend Mamas & Papas Leah Cot?

My parents have kindly offered to buy us a cot and after looking around mothercare and mamas & papas, I quite like the Leah Cot. It's currently half price (£99 down drom £195). I think I will prefer a cot to a cot bed, but I noticed that this cot doesn't have a drop down side. Does anyone find drop down sides useful, or do they just tend to break after a while and make the cot unsteady?

I've still got a whileto go before I actually buy anything, so feel free to recommend other cots.

I'll let you know later, our Leah arrived this week and we are probably building it today. I asked for opinions from various sources on the need for a drop side and the majority of people said they never used it. We went for a cot rather than cot bed due to space issues, and the attractive price. I've not examined it yet, but delivery from M+P was as promised, so no issues there.

Just built, took us less than an hour and we're happy. It looks good, decent quality wood, fitments all solid and easy to screw in. Also, seems plenty of length for her to grow into. The mattress feels good and firm (sleepsafe.)

Thanks Medee! Has your little one arrived yet? I would love to hear how she gets on in her new cot. I'm thinking it must be quite a new cot, since I can't find any other reviews about it anywhere.

Yes, she's 11 weeks old. Hitting the top of the Moses basket, yet looks tiny in the cot. We've not put her in it yet to sleep but I popped in her in a couple of times today, and she seems happy enough in it.

Well, she's in it now for her first night. She looks so wee but so far only one resettle needed.

3 nights now, and no sleep disruption. Very happy with the cot, it fits in well to our bedroom.
