Literally everyone posting about refusing the boosters now after he back and forth with restrictions and the government breaking the rules etc! I can't believe it!
Anyone else seeing the same thing?
I wonder if it is like this in other countries who have reintroduced restrictions etc.

This is not my view btw, I'm happy to take my booster but obviously very annoyed with new restrictions too. So hope my sons Nativity isn't cancelled :(

Mostly people just lashing out.

The vaccine passports don't require boosters yet.

I'm delighted by my booster. I think the government are absolute cocks but that doesn't stop me wanting to keep myself healthy!

i have had my booster but would have cancelled it if waiting for appointment. There is no point, vaccination or not. restrictions are here to stay on an on and off basis

I just can’t be arsed now to get my booster, I was only up for vax to get my life back!

I’m early 30s and now just think what is the fucking point? If we didn’t have restrictions I would absolutely get my booster but now I’m just demoralised.

What’s the point, I’ve been exposed to covid loads of times now and quite frankly im still here and very much alive.

I feel the same. I'm young and had covid before my vaccine and was fine. I'm double jabbed and due my booster next week. I won't be having it now. I only had my jabs to get some normal life back

The fewer people who have the boosters the stronger and more limiting the restrictions will be

I’m in an EU country and there wasn’t as much panic as you describe amongst my friends, relatives, colleagues, or social media contacts, when they tightened a bit the restrictions. Maybe 3 people out of 1,300+ FB friends posted something negative about it? (Yes, I know the logarithm only shows stuff from half of those people.)

Mind you, nothing was reintroduced, because we kept sensible restrictions in place throughout summer and autumn.

I’m getting my booster next week. I’m in my early 20s and not in a risk job. I couldn’t have been happier when I voluntarily signed up for it. I’m travelling a lot in the new year and don’t fancy being slightly more at risk of catching Covid this winter.

I hope that means I can get mine sooner then. Will be 5 months since my second jab tomorrow but I'm not eligible to book yet as I'm under 40.

Haven't seen anyone talking about it on my social media feeds by the way. Are your friends generally anti-vax?

It's probably because your PM didn't have a party one day after telling us he was cancelling Christmas

Oh and I know Mumsnet isn’t an accurate representation of the real world. But I find it astonishing how many people on here and from my UK family and friends are saying ‘I won’t have the booster now, what’s the point’.

Opposite reaction here when they tightened the restrictions. 80% of people I know rushed out to book their boosters. We’re all taking them out of choice, we’ve had vaccine passports for 9 months now and they’re valid without the boosters.

There was much excitement on my WhatsApp - lots of posts about the new walk in booster clinic in town.

Maybe my friends are out of touch Grin

That’s true, they didn’t, I would’ve been mightily pissed off too if that had happened.

But I’d be demanding and protesting for those people to be fired, instead of looking for ‘revenge’ in the form of booster refusal. If that’s a thing Grin

not having my booster either, not till I'm forced to have it to keep my job anyway. I'd already decided this weeks ago though.

Report
Bouledeneige · 08/12/2021 22:03

I don't really understand some of the views expressed here - what if the booster stops you getting the virus or gives you milder symptoms or none at all? Isn't that a benefit to you? I'm ill with Covid at the moment and its not exactly a laugh.

The booster is not in exchange for no rules. Its to manage the impact of the illness on you and anyone you come into contact with.

36yo. I’ll be getting it. No because I think I need it or because I think it’s the right thing to do (think other countries should be given before me) but I’ll be having it. Why? Because traveling is important for me moreover my family live abroad so I can’t afford not to get jabbed if I’m going to get restricted

Report
HariboMaroon · 08/12/2021 22:04

But lots of people (particularly younger people) only had their vaccinations as a way out of the pandemic and a way back to a more normal way of life. I can’t see a benefit to accepting a booster.

I’m double jabbed and I’ve had covid. Like I said, i would have got the booster if there were no restrictions as in my mind it would have been the acceptable pay off!!

Not even worth the effort of leaving the house for it now.

Report
AllKnowingGerbil · 08/12/2021 22:05

I think differently. I want my booster regardless of our feckless government. Mostly cos I'd rather not end up hospitalised by covid.
