Pfizer vaccine "safe" for children aged 5-11

I am sorry, but I want to see more than "promising results" in a trial of 2,267 participants before I'll be letting my young children have this vaccine.

Before anyone starts, I'm not anti vax, I've had the jab, but I really really feel uneasy about this move.

It better not ever be. When you read about this, in young children they know the messenger RNA vaccines are linked to heart inflammation, especially in boys.
Mew need to ask ourselves, is the cure worse than the cause?

Absolutely ridiculous when those actually statistically at risk from Covid in poorer countries need vaccines- no way in hell would I allow anyone to vaccinate my primary school aged child!

I’d also like some explanation for the affects on women’s periods before injecting developing girls

What “move”? It’s just a trial, and the results of said trial. Any other vaccine your children have had all also have been through similar trials. Nothing’s been approved yet, either.

The period problem needs investigation, but of course, like all women's sexual health issues, it takes a massive back burner

They can’t possibly know if it’s safe for children or teens going through puberty. With the best will and all the testing in the world there simply hasn’t been enough time for us to really know that it’s completely safe for adults, let alone children. I’ve had my jabs, and had the messed up periods to go with it, I’m still happy with my choice. But there’s no way I’d allow a child of mine to have it.

We don't need to rush with children, they are our future, and they're not adversely affected by covid. I just don't get the rush.

That’s a good question. At the moment it’s unknown if the same heart issue is caused by covid.

I believe that period problems have long been reported as side effects to a lot of vaccines, so it's not exclusive to the new mRNA vaccines at all. There's only been a select few studies though.

You're absolutely right that women's health issues are shamefully neglected.

What other vaccines affect periods?

Don’t see why it’s seen as a reach that they will all but mandate vaccines for primary school, look how quickly over 12s are being persuaded into having it.

My teen and younger child won't be having it. Teenager can overrule me of course, and that is his right, but I will be advising him against it. They don't need it. End of.

Just so you're aware children 12 and over do not need consent from their parents to have this. So bare in mind coercion from schools peer pressure etc.

I wouldn’t worry, by the time the JCVI have approved it for this age group they’ll probably all be about 40. American kids will probably be offered it soon though.

I have no issue with parents refusing to consent for their kids to have it but expect those children to be refused entry to high risk situations. No way do I want to be sat on a flight for instance with unvaccinated children if there's a safe vaccine (whilst there isn't the situation is different. The vaccine works incredibly well but the virus can mutate so we need to reduce the reservoir of contagion

I’m a bit sceptical about the whole Pfizer marketing / promotion. No doubt they have an excellent vaccine, but there seems to be a constant push to find new recipients or get more doses into the arms of those already vaccinated. Had 2 doses Pfizer? , now this might not be enough - so have another. Had 2 doses AstraZeneca? - now you need a dose of Pfizer. Aged 12-15, have a dose of Pfizer. Now they are ‘targeting’ even younger children. Some people, somewhere are getting mega-rich on all this. I’m definitely not anti-vax (double vaccinated so far) but this leaves a nasty taste in my mouth......

Flu jab and HPV spring to mind as ones that have been mentioned in studies in the past. But of course, as far as I'm aware there was never anything inclusive because apparently female health just doesn't matter.

Also there is the fact that people recently have reported period issues with Astra Zeneca as well as the mRNA Pfizer and Moderna jabs, so it doesn't appear linked to the new mRNA technology.

I think it is important to say too that in the US children are ending up in icu with covid, it isn't correct to say that children aren't adversely affected by covid when clearly some are.

Great news, glad to see research doing exactly what it’s supposed to do and scientists carrying out their jobs as they are trained to. I know who I trust to know, rather then ‘reckon’, whether something is safe or not.
