My lo started with cough not a continuous one sounds chesty, bit of a runn nose but has got a temperature. I have a test booked in the morn, windows this mean we now all have to isolate until test comes back? Could just be a cold but no point In guessing. I'm worried and tired.

yes you need to isolate, but the results should be quick.

Yes, you all isolate until you get results which, hopefully, will be negative.

We did this recently. Thankfully it was just a cold. A nasty one though.

Results are back within 12 hours at the moment so it's really quick.

Arh hopefully will be a quick turn around then, kept the other children off school and dp off work. I have just got back with lo it was awful wouldn't open mouth so had to do 2 nostril sweeps for 10 secs each, I genuinely had to restrain him. Was awful then lo cam home and told siblings mum hurt my nose. Poor thing. Hope it's just a cold. Sad

Thanks for the info those who say the test have been taking 12hrs is that everywhere tho? Do the test have to be checked in a certain amount of time like blood test ect? Hope your little ones get well soon.

My DD had hers done 8am Tues morning and we're still waiting for the results so def not 12hrs everywhere. Guess it just depends where is busy on any given day...luck of the draw! I'm hoping for an (negative) email soon as her and DS need to be back in school!

I think there must be something else going round at the mo. My toddler has all the symptoms of Covid but negative, no one else in the family is ill and we’re all negative too 😃

DD has a high temperature (turns out it was tonsillitis) but the Covid test results didn't come back for 32 hours which is the longest we have ever had to wait.

had exactly the same thing last week with 2 year old - negative. A lot of friends had something similar - something non covid is going around
