Has anyone had any effect if they have had the jab if they have previously had fillers ?

Sorry. The vaccine melts them. Your lips will go floppy. I read it on mumsnet so it must be true.

Seriously, no impact at all. Either way.

The questionnaire for Pfizer for me asked if I had fillers and I wondered why.

I'm sure I saw something about it interacting with lip fillers

LaurieFairyCake · 14/06/2021 19:25

The research concluded it DIDNT interact with the fillers

It's literally happened to 2 people Grin

They tell you not to have fillers/Botox 3 weeks before and after the vaccine.

I had Pfizer and I didn't have a questionnaire! I don't think I got asked that question on the day either.

This exactly. My doctor was very strict about this.

@Humphriescushion what’s the significance of the three weeks timescale ?

I got told to avoid fillers 3 weeks either side of the vaccination but botox is ok

I had profhilo and she was strict about waiting 3 weeks after jab.

This is in the US so maybe that makes a difference.

I read the vaccine can cause your filler to swell/cause swelling at the filler site or something. I have family members who have/are having cosmetic treatment and they have either postponed the vaccine or their treatment.

Sorry @ endof, i am not sure why but i was booked in to have a filler and told her that it was the same day as my vaccine and she was very strict that there must be a three week delay.

There's a higher risk of infection after dermal fillers Immediately after any vaccine. This is because vaccines can lower the immune system, leaving you more open to infection.

With regards to covid. 3 patients who had previously had filler, then had the covid Vaccine and experienced severe post inflammatory responses.
I believe one was treated with steroids and the other two resolved on their own.

Post inflammatory nodules are always a risk of lip filler anyway, when the immune system is disturbed. So we are being ultra careful and telling patients to wait 2 weeks minimum before/after the vaccine.

Many people have cosmetic procedures. How do you know people aren’t postponing their fillers or whatever to have the vaccine ?

My doctor said no filler type procedures three weeks after vaccines and three weeks before. I’m wondering if the risk is more post vaccine?
I say this because I’m due Profhilo on Thursday.
My second jab is not until 12th July so that was all fine but I can’t decide whether to try and bring the second jab forward and try and get it in the next few weeks (AZ) or whether that’s a bad idea!

They don’t mention it when you are getting the jab as I guess it doesn’t apply to many people but it is mentioned when you are doing all the forms for filler treatment.
They are quite strict about it.

From what I have read there are a grand total of 2 people who experienced facail swelling in the filler area after having Moderna, not Pfizer. There are no concerns about Botox.
