The cdc is saying no more masks require for the fully vaccinated so it might be along those lines

Also a bit about surge testing areas again

I can't see this, it can't be one rule for one as there would be anarchy as most under 40 are still not vaccinated.

Probably right about the surge testing, although if I was in those areas I think I would be concerned about tier restrictions Sad

I expect just blah blah blah bout being careful etc no actual action.

They should stop Mondays removal of masks in schools - it's a no brained & easy to reverse.

They should put a stop to the indoor socialising & hospitality venues opening etc.

Basically, they should put May 17
'Easings' on hold until further notice, but they're too wet to do it.

We will, again, wait until it's far harder to control, jut like they have every bloody time. They do not learn.

And again things will be much worse than they need to be, more people will die and more will have long Covid. All because they don't want to have to take an unpopular stance 🙇🏻‍♀️

Predicted this would happen. Who are we now protecting now the elderly and vulnerable have been vaccinated? We are destroying our children's lives and what for now? The vaccine was out ticket out of this mess and if that won't 'protect' us what will? We have no other option but to get on with life now as carefully as we can but I refuse to lock myself or my children away again. I realise he hasn't come out and said we are going back into lockdown but that's what will be next because this virus isn't going away.

Completely agree. They will probably wait. Maybe they will do it on Sunday if really pushed.

Really bad news is usually at 8 though isn't it? So hopefully nothing too much to.worry about

That’s a fair point. Maybe they should just open up bookings for jabs for everyone and let anyone who can and wants to go to available appointments.

I’ll take a jab but alas I’m not allowed until last pretty much.

I’ve just heard on the news that the government says Monday will still go ahead despite Indian variant. So maybe it’s more about increase in surge testing and vaccinating younger people quicker.

It’s still not known exactly if it is much less effective

It’s still too early to say

Even vaccinated people can get the origami light strain of Covid, it’s not 100% effective

Agree with this. I won’t be locking myself or my DD away again either. She’s only just started to meet her wider family now restrictions are easing, I’m not stopping that now. They will have to come up with something else if they are that worried, or just let us get on with our lives.

This. The vulnerable are no longer at risk.
Restrictions can no longer be justified. If people want to stay locked up and wear mask etc. let that be personal choice. The rest of us want to get on with our lives.

Prof Dingwall, of the School of Social Sciences at Nottingham Trent University, told the PA news agency: "This variant seems to be better managed by the vaccines than the South African variant so that vaccinated people have only a very low risk of infection that is likely to be mild."

Surge vaccination in hot spots?

The no more masks link is in relation to the US though is it not?

Report
Onedropbeat · 14/05/2021 13:08

Yes it’s just US based for now

Fingers cross no more masks for Uk follows suit

That is to encourage people to get vaccinated. Many Republicans in US don't want to take the vaccine but hate the masks.
