How/Where do you think you caught it?

Just that really, I've not seen much on this anywhere.

Probably at work. But I'd been on holiday the week before.

We got it a couple of weeks ago and apart from a few socially distanced walks in the weeks prior we really hadn’t been anywhere. We reckon we must have picked it up from either our online shopping delivery or from an Amazon delivery. Scary - especially as DH was really poorly. We spray everything we can with Dettol now.

Supermarket, it's the only place I had been other than home!

Probability spending a weekend at a swim gala with a load of kids who'd been on ski holidays with school!

Either that or at my school.

But as I only go to swimming pool, works and supermarket even in non covid times it's not hard to narrow it down.

Plus 2 others who I was at pool with that weekend ended up ill.

1 though had been away week after gala and ill on return and other worked in office 2 days a week and WFH other 3 but had had a meeting in London 5 days previously.

So we assume it's likely the 3 of us were our infectors we have no idea who or where index case was.

Positive test although no symptoms, still not convinced I really had it, but if I did must have been from antenatal care - dh and I went nowhere else

Nursery had an outbreak. Daughter showed no symptoms but husband and I came down positive within a few days of isolating due to her contact with a positive case.

I really wonder about the 'haven't been anywhere' comments. Know of a couple who got it and swear up and down they haven't been a place. Unless Covid is coming through the windows now, there must have been some contact with another person.

The people I know who've had it (only 3) one got it at work (frontline healthcare so shocking) one got from a friend (whole group for it) one got it from a sibling who got it from a friend.

We all caught it from our 8 year -old child whose Primary school was riddled with it just before the Christmas holidays.
So many parents were still hosting playdates and even birhtday parties and sleepovers with the rationale ' they're in a bubble' .. my child was sick for 6 days. I was sick for 35..

Why are you spraying things with Dettol if you've had it?

I went from Devon up to London by train on 8th March last year. I went to a crowded exhibition at the British Museum, a crowded cafe, and Waterloo was like an ants' nest. Came down with the virus a couple of days later. So, got it either on the train or one of the crowded places. Gave it to DH and we're both still feeling the effects (tiredness and for me, brain fog now). I think my dch had it too, but just for a few days and got off lightly.

I've answered this before on another thread definitely.

I caught it at work. I'm a teacher. Another teacher tested positive a few days before me. I either got it from him or we both got it from a student.

I had it in November.

OrangeBlossom28 · 05/03/2021 21:03

Back in November I was very poorly with it. I'm a primary teacher and think I caught it at school.

Report
marriednotdead · 05/03/2021 21:05

I got it this time last year. Commuting into central London by tube and working closely customer facing so almost certainly one or the other.

I have been isolating for 10 months. Only saw one person - my son. He caught it three weeks after he started back to face-to-face school after seven months of remote learning. A week later, I tested positive too.
